The detail level on the Trumpeter kit is higher, which also comes with ahm high number of parts. Fit of this kit is average, with the lower cowling being the worst offender, because it's too narrow at the back to properly fit, and needs a spreader bar to widen the fuselage and get a good fit.
On the other hand, the Hasegawa kit is superior in fit, but not in availability. Hasegawa's kit fits perfectly everywhere.
Decals on this kit worked very well, a bit tacky, but can be slid into position if you moist the surface of the model with enough water. They're also thin enough to not need softening solutions.
Marking chosen was that of Adolf Borchers aircraft, a JG52 Commander who shot down 132 aircraft in 800 sorties (thanks Wikipedia!)
